Ne-Yo and his wife Crystal Renay are over the moon with their newborn son and proudly shared the first photos of little Shaffer Chimere Smith Jr. The adorable baby boy, who has his father's real name, was born on March 15 and it's clear that the pair is already completely smitten.
New mum Crystal shared a sweet Instagram snapshot of her tiny son cradled in her arms in the hospital, and wrote in the caption: "Allow me to introduce to you all Shaffer Chimere Smith Jr. I AM SO IN LOVE WITH THIS LIL MAN! Now I know what it means to have your heart walk around outside of your body…
"THANK YOU @neyon for the greatest gift in the world. Love you to the moon and back daddy! #HeIsPERFECT."
Meanwhile, R&B star Ne-Yo – who is a father to Madilyn Grace, five, and Mason Evan, four, with ex Monyetta Shaw, shared a black and white photo of himself holding his baby son, with the words "Senior and Junior" written across the picture.
Additionally, he captioned the snapshot: “"Welcome to the world lil' man. (HA! Mason's a big brother now) You got a BIG family lookin' out for you, immediate AND extended. And we all love you to death. Gonna do EVERYTHING in my power to make sure ALL my children never need for anything EVER. @iamcrystalrenay I love you lovely. Thank you for this amazing gift!"
Crystal announced Shaffer's birth by sharing a photo of her baby boy - who she has affectionately nicknamed Prince SJ - clutching her finger. She revealed that he weighed in at 6lbs 8oz and was born via emergency C-section because of complications - but said it was still the "best day of my life".
"It was the scariest delivery ever and I ended up getting an emergency C-section cause of complications but with the help of my amazing doctor @drsherryr and my super calming husband @neyo I was able to get through it all and come out with best reward in the world... SJ!!!!!"
The couple announced they were both engaged and expecting a baby together in September 2015, and they tied the knot last month, on 20 February, in Los Angeles.
