Sarah McLachlan on her holiday traditions, how she drives her girls crazy and her happy place

Sarah McLachlan can't wait to take the stage on Dec. 19, alongside fellow Canadian musicians Johnny Reid and Holly Cole, at CHFI 98.1's Together for the Holidays concert at Toronto's Massey Hall. With host Jann Arden at the helm, Sarah told Hello! that "we're all doing Christmas carols so it's a full-on Christmas show."

When we caught up with the Halifax native, she reflected on a busy 2016, one that saw the release of her first studio album in two years, Wonderland. "I find that my best time to write is when I'm in the woods," she explained. "I have my iPhone with me and I take my dog - it's like walking meditation." The 48-year-old also spent the summer performing at Canadian jazz festivals and on a US tour with Josh Groban.

Here, we get the lowdown on her holiday plans at home in Vancouver with her girls, India, 14, and 9-year-old Taja, the one thing she does that drives her daughters crazy and her happy place!
