Emily MacDonagh found herself thrust into the public eye when her relationship with reality TV star Peter Andre was revealed in July 2012.
Some 17 years his junior, she was a medical student at Bristol University.
The couple met after the pretty brunette's father Ruaraidh MacDonagh operated on Peter to remove kidney stones in 2010. They began dating two years later.
Emily is the eldest of five children and grew up with her brothers in Bridgwater, Somerset, before following her father into medicine.
The 23-year-old has appeared on her beau's ITV2 reality show, Peter Andre: My Life, in which she said: "I hope his family like me and I know he feels the same way, as what your family think is so important."
Luckily, Junior and Princess Tiaamii, the Mysterious Girl singer's children with his ex-wife Katie Price, warmed to her immediately.
Soon after their romance began Peter made the decision to step back from reality TV, saying: "Emily is a little bit more private, I want to stick up for her, to protect her".
Only a few months after her graduation, the trainee doctor fell pregnant. It didn't take Peter's fans long to catch on when he was seen tenderly patting her tummy.
He wrote in his column: "We were going to keep this to ourselves a little bit longer, but as everyone's been asking, I am very happy to tell you that Emily Macdonagh and I are having a baby, and we are over the moon."
"Emily will make a brilliant mum," he added. "What impresses me the most is the way she is with the kids."
Their little girl Amelia was born in January 2014 and a few weeks later the couple announced their engagement.
