Just like us Canadians, many Australians are enthusiastic supporters of the royal family – which might explain why there have been more than 50 royal tours to the faraway Commonwealth nation since 1867!
One of the most famous of these trips was that of Princess Diana and Prince Charles in 1983. The new mother insisted on bringing her infant son along, making Prince William the first royal baby to accompany his parents on an official, overseas visit.
Now, as George prepares for his first journey abroad, we look back at the iconic tour that paved the way for jet-setting royal infants, as well as the subsequent visits that the Princess of Wales paid Down Under.
