They may be on official royal business, but the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are always cheerful and joking when they’re seen out in public together.
Their easygoing approach may explain why their tour of Australia and New Zealand has been so successful. The Duchess (née Kate Middleton) and her husband enjoy publicly poking fun at one another, which has delighted the crowds Down Under. (Aussies and Kiwis are famous for their laid-back nature and wicked sense of humour.)

After William teased his wife about her outfits, saying her yellow dress made her look like “a banana” and that her green coatdress was “a bit bright,” the Duchess got back at her wispy-haired husband by playfully suggesting he should wear a toupee.
William, of course, laughed and took the jab in stride.
“The prince was interested in the alpaca, and as I showed it to them, the princess said he should put it on his head,” said their tour guide, Lyn Crejan, after showing the royals a sample of fine wool from the region. “She said, ‘You need it more than me’ and pointed to his head, and he laughed.”
Prince George’s parents genuinely seem to enjoy each other’s company and, like most young people in love, are rather fond of joking around.
