Time flies when you're heir to the throne! Prince George has has a momentous and fun-filled two years as the world watched on with melting hearts, from a first glimpse of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's new addition outside St Mary's Hospital on July 22, 2013 to his most recent appearance at sister Princess Charlotte's christening. To celebrate George's special day, we've captured all the magical moments in a video retrospective of the mini monarch-to-be's first two years.
The spirited little prince delighted onlookers from the very start, when his tiny newborn hand reached out from beneath his aden + anais blanket as if waving to the crowds of adoring royal fans. Mom Kate cradled her bundle of joy while dad Prince William looked on protectively, and the new parents were as smitten as the cheering throngs.
George's christening on Oct. 23, 2013 offered the next glimpse of the Cambridge family's new member, clad in an intricate, flowing lace replica robe in a delicate cream hue perfectly complementing the Duchess's Alexander McQueen ensemble. Little George looked around curiously, unsure of what all the fuss was about.
Six months later, royal followers were spoiled with sightings of Prince George while the boisterous baby was on tour with his parents Down Under. From New Zealand to Australia, he captured hearts at ever turn, showing his bold personality during a playdate at Government House in Wellington and his love of animals during a visit to Taronga Zoo (where he even stood excitedly with help from mom!)
In May of 2015, George took on his most important role to date: big brother. Kate gave birth to Princess Charlotte on the 2nd, prompting William to go home and bring their first born for a visit. Showing off his new waving skills, the 21-month-old cutie greeted the crowds with a look of wonder as he entered the Lindo Wing. A few months later, at Charlotte's christening, George was at it again, walking alongside his family to enter the church, waving, dancing, chatting with his "nanny" and gazing into his sister's pram.
The future looks bright for the future monarch, and we can't see what the next few years have in store. Happy birthday, Prince George!
