Proud father Mike told the Sydney Morning Herald that Mia takes after her mother, explaining, "Mia has inherited a love of horses, she has a Shetland pony and she enjoys it so I think her mum has passed that love on … me on the other hand, well I'm more of a football man."

Zara has previously discussed her hopes for her daughter's future, telling The Telegraph that they will support their first-born whatever she wants to do.

"Whatever she wants to do in life we'll encourage her. If that's riding, amazing," she said.

Mike said their daughter Mia is following in her mother's footsteps.

The 34-year-old also credited Mia with helping her performance as she trains for the 2016 Olympics in Rio.

"Everyone is so different in how they get through competition," Zara told The Telegraph. "But I think what everyone has in common is that you perform better if you can relax. Having Mia has definitely enabled me to relax more.

"There's definitely more highs being a mother than being in sport. One thing I do know, I make better decisions now. Before I'd have got on any old horse. Now I'm more selective. And when I see a steep slope, I go round it. Mind, I don't know if that's a product of motherhood or just being older."
