Prince George and Princess Charlotte's surprising gifts in 2015, including a samurai helmet!

When charged with finding the perfect presents for Prince George and Princess Charlotte, gift-givers run the gamut from traditional fare to some rather unusual offerings. Among the gifts received by Prince William and Kate for the young royals last year were a crocheted carriage blanket, pyjamas, a snowsuit and even a samurai helmet.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge received almost 100 presents for their son and daughter during tours and official visits, according to the official record released by Buckingham Palace. Items accepted during local engagements have not yet been listed.

When William went to Japan for the first time in February 2015, he took home some wonderful souvenirs for George from local well-wishers.

Almost 100 gifts were received for Prince George and Princess Charlotte during tours and state visits last year.

The items included a wooden toy, a samurai painting and two kendama games, which is similar to the cup-and-ball game. From the emperor and empress of Japan, William was given a soft toy for his son.

During his trip to the Far East, William also visited China, the first time a senior royal has done so since 1986. Here, the future King was inundated with gifts for himself, including a vase and a stand from President Xi Jinping and a rug and cellphone from other well-wishers.

William was given a personalized football shirt for his daughter when he met the England Women's football team in May.

For two-year-old George, William received six DVDs, two toy airplanes and a pair of pyjamas, among other gifts.

William's brother Prince Harry was also given items for his niece and nephew. While on tour in New Zealand in May, the popular royal received three soft toy penguins, a snowsuit and sleep suit for baby Charlotte as well as a bib and quilt.

Harry also accepted personalized sports shirts with George and Charlotte's names printed on the back.

Prince Harry was also the recipient of gifts for his niece and nephew.

Proud granddad Prince Charles was also the recipient of gifts for the young prince and princess.

Baby Charlotte, who turns one in May, was given a crocheted carriage blanket, a wooden rattle and a knitted dress from well-wishers in the Republic of Ireland. George, similarly, was given a knitted sweater..

Prince Charles also received cuddly toys for his grandchildren.
