The Duchess of Cambridge, née Kate Middleton, upped her hair game in Manchester on Friday (Oct. 14) when she opted for an eye-catching hairstyle. The mother-of-two wore her glossy brunette locks in a low ponytail, adding a twist to the classic hairstyle – quite literally.
Kate gave her fans major hair inspiration by twisting two sections of the top half of her hair, joining them together at the nape where she secured the look with a hairband that matched her hair colour as closely as possible. For an extra touch of glamour, the Duchess added heaps of volume throughout the length of her locks and swept the her locks to the side. She was later spotted undoing the style, leaving her hair to cascade down into its natural waves.
The Duchess was joined by husband Prince William for the visit, where the pair took a tour of the National Football Museum in Manchester's iconic Urbis building. The royal couple also spent some time to meet bright young locals who are making a difference in their communities, at a special reception in their honour.
Wrapping up warm in the cold weather, Kate showed off her style credentials in a chic checked Erdem coat, which she accessorized with navy court shoes and a co-ordinating clutch bag.
It's not the first time that Kate has added a twist to a classic updo. The British beauty floored fans earlier this year during a royal tour of India and Bhutan with William, when she stepped out with her hair swept up into a chignon which featured one of the season's biggest trends – braids.
With her tresses in a low bun, Kate opted for plaited and braided detailing at the nape of her neck for a show-stopping look as she met the Prime Minister of India for at New Delhi's Hyderabad House
