Prince Harry made headlines around the world in August 2012 when compromising pictures of him partying in Las Vegas were published. Now, more than two years on, how does Harry feel about the infamous incident? "It was probably a classic case of me being too much Army and not enough prince," the 30-year-old royal admitted in a new interview with Man of the World magazine. "It's a simple case of that."

Harry got a wake-up call when he was sent on a tour of duty to Afghanistan shortly after the scandal erupted. "I saw some horrendous things," he admitted. "The tragic injuries and deaths of local people from roadside bombs, some of whom were children; coalition forces lying in the battlefield." Harry first went to Afghanistan with the Household Cavalry Regiment in 2007, but had to leave for safety reasons after 77 days, when his location was revealed by a tabloid. He returned for a 20-week deployment in 2012-2013 with the Army Air Corps.

Prince Harry also spoke about his experiences in Afghanistan

The royal added: "To see young lads – much younger than me – wrapped in plastic and missing limbs with hundreds of tubes coming out of them was something I never prepared myself for." Harry has since dedicated much of his time to raising money for the Armed Forces, and in particular injured soldiers. A confidant of the Prince told Man of the World: "Supporting wounded servicemen and women has become one of the defining aspects of Prince Harry's professional life over the past few years. "He has a genuine compassion and understanding of the issues at hand, drawn from his own very personal experiences."
