Days after arriving back in the UK from a family holiday to Mustique, the Duchess of Cambridge, née Kate Middleton, returned to work, making a private visit to a school in Beckenham, London. The British royal made the trip to Bethlem and Maudsley Hospital School for the charity Place2Be.

Place2Be has a special place in Kate's heart, as the charity is the leading UK provider of school-based mental health support, and counts Kate as one of their patrons.

Late in 2014, Kate invited the children's charity into her home as she hosted the first ever Place2Be Wellbeing in Schools Awards ceremony. The Duchess welcomed guests into the Kensington Palace state apartments before later presenting the Child Champion Award to a young person who has overcome their own struggles and gone on to help others.

Guests at the event were reportedly praising the Duchess for her hands-on approach with the charity, and Kate continued to mingle with guests up to the last minute before the ceremony began.

The private engagement came just days after Duchess Kate, her husband Prince William, and their one-year-old son Prince George touched back down in the UK.

It is thought that Kate will begin to cut back on her public appearances over the coming months, as the April due date of her second child draws closer. She will no doubt be spending as much time with Prince George as possible as they prepare to welcome the new addition to their family.

The Duchess reportedly wants to ensure the young Prince has as normal a life as possible, and as HELLO! exclusively revealed in December, she and George enjoyed "numerous" visits to London's Winter Wonderland ahead of the festive season.
