Prince Charles attended a party in Perth to celebrate his 67th birthday

Despite it being an evening of celebration Charles gave a speech at the event asking "in view of the appalling atrocities that took place in Paris overnight, [for those in attendance] to observe one minute’s silence in memory of all those who have been affected and lost their lives" in the Paris attacks.

He added: "Our hearts go out as I am sure you will agree to all those who have been affected in the most dreadful way by these bestial attacks. "Earlier in the day Prince William’s father attended a service at St George’s Cathedral in the centre of Perth alongside Camilla. During the service in the heritage-listed Anglican church the congregation took time to reflect on the awful events that had happened the evening before in the French capital.
