Jennifer Lopez and Sting perform at couple's $1 billion wedding in Russia

A young Russian couple said "I do" over the weekend in what is being touted as one of the world's most expensive weddings. Said Gutseriev, son of billionaire Mikhail Gutseriev, and Khadija Uzhakhovs, 20, reportedly waltzed into marriage to the tune of one billion dollars.

The extravagant affair featured performances by Jennifer Lopez, Sting and Enrique Iglesias, not to mention a nine-tiered wedding cake, $40,000 gown and a fleet of Rolls-Royces.

The bride wore an $40,000 Elie Saab ballgown that weighed 25 lbs.

Photos and video clips of the decadent celebration have surfaced on social media and show that oil tycoon Mikhail spared no expense.

The bride, who is in her first year of dentistry at Moscow University, arrived in a princess-style dress designed by Elie Saab. The beaded ballgown is said to have been imported from Paris and weighed 25 lbs.

Khadija completed her bridal look with a tiara, a handbag and a diamond pendant necklace.

Jennifer Lopez flew into Moscow to perform at the wedding.

Jennifer Lopez, who allegedly charges $2 million for private performances, flew in to sing some of her greatest hits including Waiting For Tonight, If You Had My Love and Dance Again. She joked that the "hardest thing" she found was pronouncing the newlyweds' names.

Sting added to the musical line-up, performing Desert Rose, while Enrique Iglesias sang Bailando. Russian media reported that Beyoncé and Elton John also made up the music royalty, although this has yet to be confirmed.

Sting, who also performed, is pictured with the groom.

Over 600 guests were invited to the marital bash. The reception was held at Safisa, an upmarket restaurant and banqueting venue in Moscow.

A fleet of Rolls-Royces were parked outside, and inside guests were greeted by a stunning display of fresh flowers from floor to ceiling.

According to Forbes, Mikhail Gutseriev is estimated to be worth $6.2 billion.

Family and friends tucked into sushi and European cuisine followed by the wedding cake. At more than a metre tall, it was decorated with pink flowers and adorned with the star and crescent of Islam at the top.

Little is known of the bride apart from her university education. Her husband Said studied at Harrow and Oxford.
