Not a detail was missed for Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas's pre-wedding festivities, and there are photos to prove it! The gorgeous couple officially got married on Dec. 1, HELLO! confirmed, and now fans can enjoy a sneak peek into what went on before their mehendi ceremony – a Hindu wedding ritual that happens a day or two before the wedding.
Quantico's leading lady was as colourful as can be in a traditional Indian rainbow-coloured gown by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, and Nick joined her in a turka by the same designer. The blushing bride took to Instagram to share her excitement over the day, writing: "One of the most special things our relationship has given us is a merging of families who love and respect each other’s faiths and cultures and so planning our wedding with an amalgamation of both was so so amazing. An important part for the girl in an Indian wedding is the Mehendi ... Once again we made it our own and it was an afternoon that kicked off the celebrations in the way we both dreamed."
Not a fun moment was missed, and all of her closest family and friends were there to celebrate with the newlyweds. Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner – who dazzled in a black-and-gold sari – and Nick's brother, Joe Jonas, were on hand to ring it in. The Indian actress got henna on her hands and arms during the pre-wedding fun! Their festivities were the perfect blend of modern and traditional, with the groom and groomsmen donning sunglasses with their Indian ensembles for the big day.
Their wedding, covered exclusively by HELLO! Canada in the issue on newsstands Thursday, Dec. 6, was at Jodhpur's picturesque Umaid Bhawan Palace. They first said "I do" in a western Christian ceremony, officiated by Nick's father, Paul Kevin Jonas Sr. Fans are likely eager to know what kind of rings the couple gave each other, and HELLO! can confirm that they exchanged jewels by Chopard. The 36-year-old's wedding band is from the label's "Haute Joaillerie Collection" and boasts 3.90-carats of ashoka-cut diamonds set in platinum, while the groom's band is made from ethical yellow gold.
The bride and groom both wore custom Ralph Lauren outfits, and Priyanka was a vision in a heavily hand-embroidered gown featuring intricate hand-beading, scalloped sleeves and a high collar. The embroidery, which took more than 1,800 hours to complete, used pearl pailettes and Swarovski crystals to create scroll and floral motifs, complete with lace-effect tulle appliqués. A strapless column gown beneath the long-sleeved overlay boasted a spectacular 2,380,000 mother of pearl sequins! The actress topped it all off with a 75-foot veil crafted from tulle.
Priyanka and Nick's wedding day is certainly one for the books, after a whirlwind romance saw them first pictured at the 2017 Met Gala, followed by a few public dates – like their Memorial Day weekend boat ride and a day out at the baseball game. Nick's brothers Kevin, Joe and Frankie Jonas were there for the ceremony, along with parents Paul and Denise and Priyanka's mom Madhu Chopra and cousin Parineeti Chopra.
