Bride-to-be Jessica Simpson wowed crowds as she showed off her svelte figure in a televised appearance on Tuesday.

Dressed in a black bodycon dress that showed off her trim physique, the mother-of-two looked ready to walk down the aisle as she revealed her latest wedding plans to fiancé Eric Johnson.

"We don't have an actual date but we do know that we want it to be this year," Jessica told Good Morning America. "We need to get married."

The fashion mogul, 33, and the retired NFL player, 34, have had to put their wedding on hold after Jessica's nearly back-to-back births of the couple's two children — daughter Maxwell who was born in May 2012, and son Ace who the family welcomed in June 2013.

"I already feel like we're an old married couple," said Jessica. "If [Eric] wanted to run (off), he could have run when I was hormonal and pregnant."

The blonde beauty also addressed the criticism she had received about her weight gain while she was pregnant with Maxwell.

"I just let myself have whatever I wanted, I didn't care," said Jessica. "It wasn't about weight gain for me."

When I was pregnant with Ace, my second, I was already on Weight Watchers, and I had already lost 50 pounds, so I wasn't as relaxed in my eating as I was with Maxwell."

Jessica proved in her televised appearance that she was nearing her goal of shedding the baby pounds, and credited it to her healthy eating plan and exercise regime.

"It's a lifestyle," said Jessica. "I have tried so many diets and I feel like with Weight Watchers, it just becomes a part of who you are."

As a mum, I just have this confidence. I just feel so proud of what I've done and what I've accomplished — and I just do feel this need to be the best role model for my children.

"I want [Maxwell] to look up to me and be like me. I don't want to give her any false perception of what is real and what's important. It is important to really know yourself and love yourself."
