Kim Kardashian reveals 'top-secret' meeting with Kate Middleton's wedding dress designer

Kim Kardashian has revealed that for her Vogue cover shoot, she went on a "top-secret mission" to London to meet with Sarah Burton, OBE — the same fashion designer who created Kate Middleton's wedding dress.

One of the gowns Kim donned for the magazine spread was a beautiful Alexander McQueen piece. And now Kim has let slip that, like the Duchess of Cambridge, she had secret meet-ups with royal dress designer Sarah.

"I felt like the real-life Carrie Bradshaw," Kim said on Late Night with Seth Meyers. "It was like the Sex And The City moment when you're doing a shoot for Vogue trying on wedding gowns.

"I mean, I even had to fly to London to go meet with Sarah Burton from McQueen and that was a top secret mission in itself because I landed and all the paparazzi were there."

I had to figure out how to get into this office without anyone seeing me, because if it leaked that we really shot this, then the cover — I didn't even think the cover was an option — would definitely have been out of the cards for us.

"Last week, Kim and her fiancé Kanye West caused a frenzy on Twitter and in the fashion world when they were dubbed as the "world's most talked about couple" for appearing on the April issue of the prestigious magazine.

The reality TV star, 33, posted a photo of her feathered Alexander McQueen dress from the photoshoot, in which Kim is pictured walking hand–in–hand with Kanye along the River Seine in Paris.

"One of my fave pictures from our @VogueMagazine shoot by Annie Leibovitz! Wearing Alexander McQueen," wrote Kim.

Just like the Duchess of Cambridge, Kim wore a bespoke gown customised by Sarah. The dress designer has not commented on her creation for Kim, but she did open up about working with Kate back in 2011 for the royal wedding.

"She looked so beautiful," Sarah has previously said. "She's got such an amazing sense of grace and style, it was quite easy to make her look good. For me, it was a huge highlight of my career. It came completely out of the blue, it was all very exciting and I felt very privileged.

"At her wedding to Prince William, Kate stunned crowds in her fairytale dress, which featured a sweetheart neckline, lace sleeves and a full skirt that ended in a two-metre-70-centimetre train.

Sarah, who took over the helm of the Alexander McQueen label in 2010 following the founder's death, received an OBE for her work.

This is not the first time that both Kim and Kate have worn Alexander McQueen creations. Back in 2011, the reality star was spotted wearing a red dress while filming her family's show Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

Less than a year later, Kate donned the same slightly altered gown for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee pageant on the River Thames, choosing to have sleeves sewn on to protect her from the cold weather.

Kim has openly said that she admired the Duchess' style. Speaking in an interview with Now, the on-screen star said, "Kate seems like a really sweet person and she's a princess. We love her sense of fashion. She could wear our looks and team it with one of her hats."
