Canadians will be celebrating the 15th anniversary of Canada’s Walk of Fame this year with a star-studded awards show featuring presenters like Mike Myers, Martin Short and Alice Cooper and a musical performance by Carly Rae Jepsen.
Walk of Fame honourees for 2013 are:
Music producer Bob Ezrin
Athlete Terry Fox
Actor Victor Garber
Social activists and Free The Children-founders Craig and Marc Kielburger
Jazz pianist and composer Oscar Peterson
Soccer player Christine Sinclair
Actor and host Alan Thicke
Heartthrob Justin Bieber and his manager Scooter Braun are
set to make a pre-recorded appearance to award Justin’s tour mate, Carly Rae,
with the Allan Slaight Award.
Growing Pains alum Joanna Kerns, music powerhouse David Foster, sportscaster Brian Williams and Hedley’s Jacob Hoggard, plus musical performances by Tom Cochrane and The Tenors, round out the program.
Since 1998, Canada’s Walk of Fame has celebrated a different
group of Canadians each year – exceptional individuals who have excelled in
film, music, literary or visual arts, sports, performance arts, science,
television or innovation.
Past inductees to the Walk of Fame include Neil Young, Paul
Shaffer, Second City Television, Mordecai Richler, Christopher Plummer, Wayne
Gretzky, Russell Peters, Lorne Michaels and Robert Munsch.
The 2013 Canada’s Walk of Fame Awards airs on Sunday, October 27 at 8 pm Eastern Time on Global.
