Kanye West voiced many of his frustrations and annoyances during an hour-long interview with the BBC on Monday, dishing on everything from the paparazzi and racism to critics of his controversial persona.
The one thing Kanye doesn't seem to have any qualms with? His girlfriend and the mother of his daughter, Kim Kardashian.
"She gave me everything,” he told interviewer Zane Lowe. “She gave me a support system. She's in a powerful enough situation that she could love me without asking for money,” he said, adding that this is something that was hard to find.
Kim and Kanye debuted their relationship in April 2012 and welcomed their first child together, baby North West, earlier this year. The new parents have one of the highest-profile relationships in Hollywood, and it seems the paparazzi mania has gotten to the rapper.
Kanye, 36, was charged with battery and attempted grand theft after he reportedly attacked a videographer in July (he claims he acted in self-defense).
West vowed to Lowe that he would change the paparazzi laws for his daughter, to ensure that one day she will be paid for every photo taken of her.
“’You see all these cheques that you getting at age six because people are taking your picture? … I made that happen, Nori. That's what I'm going to tell her,” he said.
