Angelina Jolie reportedly buys Brad Pitt a $20 million, heart-shaped island

What do you buy the man who has everything?

Resourceful Angelina Jolie has come up with a fitting solution to this dilemma, reportedly splurging on a $20 million, heart-shaped island for Brad Pitt’s 50th birthday.

Located off the American east coast (just 80 kilometres north of New York City), the private island of Petra sprawls over 11 acres of land and includes two luxury homes with panoramic views, as well as a helicopter pad.

As if that weren’t enough, Brad’s favourite architect, Frank Lloyd Wright, designed the island's two dwellings.

A source said: “As soon as Angelina heard the island was on the market she arranged a viewing. She was really impressed. The house is perfect for romantic getaways or as a family retreat.”

However, one of owners has since denied rumours of the actress's alleged interest in the secluded estate, and insists the house is still on the market.

But if the 38-year-old mother of six does decide to go through with the wildly romantic gesture, Brad’s milestone birthday on Dec. 18 will definitely be one to remember.

“[The island] is very private," said a source. "And Angelina knows the fact the island is in the shape of a heart will mean so much to him."
