Elizabeth Taylor's steamy love letter to Richard Burton is up for auction

A racy love letter written by Elizabeth Taylor to her 5th (and 6th!) husband, Richard Burton, has gone up for auction online.

In the recently uncovered note, the eloquent movie star describes her “pure animal pleasure” for the actor and goes on to explain that she can only “boil and bubble inside" at the thought of Richard.

Written on the couple’s 10th wedding anniversary (March 15, 1974, the first time around), the letter provides some insight into the famously turbulent love lives of the megastars; the couple split just two days after it was penned.

It reads:

“My darling (my still) My husband.

“I wish I could tell you of my love for you, of my fear, my delight, my pure animal pleasure of you - (with you) - my jealousy, my pride, my anger at you, at times. Most of all my love for you, and whatever love you can dole out to me - I wish I could write about it but I can't.

“I can only 'boil and bubble' inside and hope you understand how I really feel. Anyway I lust thee,

“Your (still) Wife.

“P.S. O'Love, let us never take each other for granted again!

“P.P.S. How about that - 10 years!!”

The minimum bid is listed at £1,000 (roughly $1,728 Canadian) but is expected to fetch several times more than that.
