Prince George and Miley Cyrus land on Barbara Walters’ Most Fascinating People List of 2013

The youngest is heir to the British throne. The oldest is a spiritual world leader. Another is a controversial pop starlet.

What do they all have in common? Prince George, Pope Francis and Miley Cyrus – along with seven other public figures – have been chosen for Barbara Walters’ 2013 Most Fascinating People list.

Barbara, 84, has been selecting an eclectic array of personalities for her annual list for 20 years. This will be her last “most fascinating” special before her retirement and will include an overview of fascinating people over the last two decades.

It may come as no surprise that the most famous infant in the world (who is just four months old!), Prince George, made the cut. Kanye West and fiancée Kim Kardashian are also included on the list as a duo (though baby North West is not).

Last year saw Prince Harry, Ben Affleck and Fifty Shades of Grey author E.L. James among those selected, with U.S. Army General David Patraeus earning the number one honour for the second time (he was also dubbed “most fascinating” in 2010).

The final special will air on Wednesday, Dec. 18 at 9:30 pm on ET and will reveal Barbara's “most fascinating person” of the year.

Who do you think will be number one?

The most fascinating people of 2013:

ABC anchor Robin Roberts
Jennifer Lawrence
Duck Dynasty
Miley Cyrus
Pope Francis
Prince George
Long-distance swimmer Diana Nyad
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West
