Diary: Toronto's society set celebrates Burberry

The champagne was flowing as a bevy of Toronto VIPs flooded the Bloor Street Burberry boutique to ogle a special collection of pieces by the British luxury brand.

Models worked the crowd in standout looks that included a sheer lace skirt, a white pencil dress with intricate beading on the bust and a bedazzled beige trench - and many of the pieces on display had crossed the pond to Canada for the first time.

After the party, guests like Jeanne Beker and Kirstine Stewart crossed the street to the glitzy La Societé bistro for a four-course dinner executed by guest chef Didier Leroy, hosted, of course, by owner Charles Khabouth.
