Justin Trudeau and wife Sophie Gregoire welcome son Hadrian

Justin Trudeau and his wife Sophie Gregoire are now proud parents to a newborn baby boy.

The Canadian Liberal leader took to Twitter shortly after 10 am on Friday, Feb. 28 to share the news of the birth of his son, Hadrian.

“Welcome to the world, little Hadrian. 8lbs 3oz, Sophie is wonderful, Xavier and Ella-Grace couldn’t be prouder,” he wrote, accompanied by a photo showing the baby clenching his tiny fist around his father’s finger.

The handsome politico, 42, previously took to Twitter in August to announce news that he and his wife, 38, were expecting.

Little Hadrian is now a younger brother to two older siblings: Xavier, 6, and Ella-Grace, who turned 5 this month.

Earlier this week, Justin announced that he will be taking a short break from politics after the birth of the baby to focus on his family.

“I will be taking some time at home with the family, but anyone who has had a newborn in their home knows that it’s not time off. It’s very much time that is spent focusing on one of the most important things in the universe,” he said.
