Prince William sits in economy class flying home from Guy Pelly's wedding

He may be the future king of England, but Prince William proved he’s a down-to-earth royal by flying economy class over the weekend.

The 31-year-old dad, along with his 29-year-old brother, Prince Harry, was in the United States on Saturday to attend the wedding of Guy Pelly and Holiday Inn Hotels heiress Lizzy Wilson.

The next day, the Duke of Cambridge took an American Airlines flight from Memphis to Dallas before hopping on a connecting flight home to the United Kingdom.

A local Memphis reporter, who was seated just a few rows behind Prince George’s famous father, tweeted a photo of the prince looking relaxed in a window seat in coach class.

“I am still amazed Prince William flies COACH,” Ross wrote, along with the snap as evidence. “That’s pretty humble/awesome. Who knew?”

It’s not the first time that Prince William or his wife (née Kate Middleton) have been thrifty with their royal pursestrings. The couple booked an economy class flight with a low-cost British airline called Flybe for the wedding of Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall in 2011.
