This time around Hayden has been engaged to marry her beau for the last year. The Nashville actress’s romances – with the likes of Welsh TV presenter Steve Jones – have been followed throughout much of her adulthood as she grew up in front of the cameras on TV shows such as Ally McBeal and Heroes.

The on-and-off pair met at a book party in 2009, and the stars made headline for the romance not only because of an age difference but due to the fact that she is only 5 feet tall while he’s a hefty 6ft 6in. The dated for two years before parting ways in 2011 and got back together in 2013.

Hayden’s reported pregnancy may come as no surprise to fans as she told the May 2013 issue of Glamour she wanted to start a family.

“I’ve lived a very big life, and I don’t feel my age, and I feel like I was born to be a mother,” she said.

“Sometimes people speak about [having kids] like, ‘Your life ends -- you’re never going to be able to do anything again!’ And I’m like, ‘What are you talking about?’ Motherhood is the most beautiful, exciting thing, and there’s nothing that I feel like I can’t accomplish while having children in my life.”

The petite beauty added that she has a pretty good idea of what her and her partner’s offspring might look like.

“He’s got bowlegs and I’ve got knocked knees, so they’re going to have straight legs,” she said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in November 2013. “And they’ll be normal height.”
