​Brazilian soccer star Ronaldinho puts his lavish Rio apartment up for rent

The 2014 World Cup has officially begun, but the games aren’t the only thing getting sports fans excited.

Team Brazil midfielder, Ronaldinho Gaúcho, has listed his gorgeous Rio de Janeiro apartment on the rental site Airbnb for the first half of July — and to be a guest at this superstar’s abode does not come cheap.

The home, which boasts five bedrooms, six bathrooms, a swimming pool, two kitchens, a stately veranda and a zen room, will cost guests approximately $17,000 per night.

The house accommodates up to eight people, but additional costs apply to groups of more than three.


The appeal of the property isn’t just its current tenant and his impressive display of trophies. It's also conveniently located 30 minutes away from Maracanã stadium, where the World Cup matches being held.

The World Cup semi-finals, third place round and finals all take place in July, so it’s the perfect place for die-hard soccer enthusiasts to take a nap between festivities.

Airbnb notes that guests will have access to the entire house, including the sauna, jacuzzi, barbecue area, home theatre, wine cellar, beer fridge, fireplace, office, parking for up to three cars and an “exclusive stage to enjoy a good samba party with friends.”
