Diary of the Week: Amber's White Party, Joe Carter Classic, Stratford Festival and Terry O'Neil gallery
Passersby may have wondered what the big to-do was all about in Yorkville this past week, as a party at Izzy Gallery spilled out into the street. Photographer Terry O’Neil was in town to launch his show, Terry O'Neil; the Man Who Shot the Sixties. He snapped incredible pics of everyone from The Beatles and Rolling Stones to Brigitte Bardot and Faye Dunaway. Our own Canadian icon, Jeanne Beker, moderated a chat with the shutterbug and then he happily mingled with the crowd.
The ShangriLa Toronto rolled out the red carpet for the fifth annual Joe Carter Classic charity golf tournament after-party. Sports legends and celebrities came out for the brou-ha-ha that has raised close to $1 million to benefit the Children’s Aid Foundation and other local children’s charities. Toronto favourite Charlie Sheen once again brought the party to new heights and performances by Salt-n-Pepa and Biz Markie hit a hole in one. The 2014 Strellson After Party was presented by Belvedere.

The ever-enduring Toufik Sarwa once again hosted his white-themed summer soirée at Amber, a party that never seems to get old. Diehard revelers and some new to the scene all descended on the Yorkville hotspot for summer's best party. The theme was pride, both gay and Canadian. Guests enjoyed bottle service and fantastic beats that played all night long. A dozen pretty young things took to the tabletops for dancing. They dancing everywhere but the ceiling!
