World Breastfeeding Week: Alanis Morissette, Olivia Wilde and more moms weigh in

In celebration of World Breastfeeding Week (Aug. 1 to 7) Alanis Morissette has shared an intimate throwback photo that shows the Canadian singer nursing her son.

The 40-year-old songstress posted the 2012 image on Instagram, in which she can be seen feeding her baby, Ever Imre Morissette-Treadway (now age three), while on tour.

Alanis, who is married to rapper Mario “MC Souleye” Treadway, is an outspoken breastfeeding enthusiast and has even penned blog posts praising the benefits of attachment parenting, which advocates for extended breastfeeding into toddlerhood.

She’s not the only celebrity mom to have joined in on the campaign to normalize breastfeeding. Just this week, Olivia Wilde posed for Glamour magazine fashion shoot, which shows the actress breastfeeding baby Otis Sudeikis.

Stars like Gwen Stefani, Gisele Bünchen and Miranda Kerr have also been open about their pro-nursing stance and have posted similarly intimate photos of themselves feeding their little ones (while looking incredibly glamorous).
