Diary of the Week: Power of Prive and the Hugo Boss Tiff Pocket fund

By Amoryn Engel

If there is any way to lure the ladies inside on a beautiful summer’s day, stunning jewels and a luncheon of lobster and other neat treats would do it!

Power of Prive presented the Atelier Swarovski Matthew Campbell Laurenza sculptures and jewellery collection at the sprawling Forest Hill home of Suzanne Rogers. This was only the second time they have been presented this collection after having been on display at Bergdorf Goodman. Ladies in pretty party dresses came out for the afternoon of shopping for a good cause as 10 per cent of all sales to benefit Boost Child Abuse Intervention & Prevention.

Fashion’s best and brightest descended on the Huge Boss flagship store on Bloor Street to toast the collaboration between the iconic label and TIFF, on the TIFF Pocket Fund. The intimate group of guests noshed on small bites by the Food Dudes and were the first to purchase the $45 pocket square, on sale from now until Sept. 14. One hundred per cent of the proceeds will be donated to the TIFF Pocket Fund, which help children in under-serviced communities access TIFF Learning Programmes. Everyone knows about the September festival, but not many know about the TIFF Kids International Film Festival each April. Good times and good deeds!
