Jason Priestly to host Canada’s Walk of Fame ceremony

This year’s Canada’s Walk of Fame Tribute Show is poised to be a star-studded affair.

Director and actor Jason Priestly has just been announced as the host of the annual gala, which celebrates outstanding Canadians from all walks of life who have made a significant contribution to our country's culture.


“I’m excited to host the Walk of Fame gala this year, I think it’s going to be a lot of fun,” Jason told ET Canada, while describing the thrill of performing on live television.

The event, which takes place on Oct. 18, will be an especially A-list soirée, as two of the country’s Most Beautiful starsRyan Reynolds and Rachel McAdams – are being inducted into Canada's Walk of Fame. Other high-profile honourees include the roots rock group The Band, hockey star Hayley Wickenheiser, former United Nations high commissioner for human rights Louise Arbour and the late musician Jeff Healey.

The Weekend and Jay Baruchel are also expected to attend, with musical guests being announced in the upcoming weeks. The gala will be broadcast as a two-hour special on Global on Dec. 19.
