We can’t think of a more Canadian way to celebrate New Year's Eve than with a romantic getaway to Niagara Falls – and it seems Keith Urban and his wife, Nicole Kidman, agree! The loved-up twosome rang in 2015 at the popular Ontario tourist destination last week.
“I’ve been there a couple times. I mean, it’s magnificent … it’s a pretty magical place,” enthused Keith to the Canadian Press when asked about the falls.
Keith and Nicole, both 47, appear to be more in love than ever after supporting each other through a particularly difficult year. In September, Nicole suffered the unexpected loss of her father, Dr. Antony Kidman, who died suddenly after suffering a heart attack. At the memorial service, the united pair sang an acoustic duet of Amazing Grace.
“We’ve had some terrible things happen this year in our family,” Nicole told Good Morning Britain as she approached her first holiday season without her dad in November. “We will be still holding tight to each other as that’s all you can do at Christmas, hold tight to each other.”
Niagara Falls – which is the collective name for three beautiful waterfalls, Horseshoe Falls, the American Falls and the Bridal Veil Falls – has long attracted its share of celebrity visitors, including Princess Diana with Princes William and Harry in 1991.
