Zelda Williams shines during first red-carpet appearance since Robin Williams’ passing

Robin Williams’ daughter, Zelda Williams, made a rare public appearance over the weekend as she attended her first red-carpet event since her father’s tragic passing last August.

The 25-year-old actress stepped out for the Nine Zero One Melrose Place launch party in Los Angeles on Saturday (Jan. 17), where she wowed in a plunging black dress paired with a gold chain belt and a choker necklace.

She was joined on the red carpet by Canadian actress Nina Dobrev, who colour-coordinated in a black, white and gold ensemble.

The beautiful brunette appeared to be in good spirits and even shared a behind-the-scenes photo from the day, which showed how she was getting ready for the event.

“Photographic evidence that I got my hair done for the first time in 5 months,” she wrote alongside the glamorous Instagram snap.

After experiencing a few rocky months immediately after her dad’s passing, Zelda is said to be in a good place and coping well.

The actress famously took a hiatus from social media after she became upset by comments left on her accounts relating to her late father. In September, however, she made a triumphant return, writing: “Never be bullied into silence. Never allow yourself to be made a victim. Accept no one’s definition of your life; define yourself,” on her tumblr page, re-quoting Harvey Fierstein, who had co-starred with Robin in 1993 family comedy Mrs. Doubtfire.

In October, the budding starlet paid tribute to her late father with a new tattoo of a hummingbird on her hand. The beautiful body art is placed above her dad’s birth date, “7.21.51.”

She spent the Christmas holidays in Sydney with her Australian actor boyfriend of one year, Jackson Heywood, while keeping fans updated on how she was doing. “It can be hard to find happiness when you're sad, but it shouldn't be to find kindness. Thank you to all those being kind this Christmas,” she wrote on Instagram.

Jackson, no doubt, has a lot to do with Zelda’s positive state of mind.
