In the past few years, Miley Cyrus has changed her sound, her hairstyle and her squeaky-clean image. Now, it seems the singer is ready to move on once more: She's listed her family’s Los Angeles Toluca Lake mansion for $5.9 million.
Miley's parents, Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus, bought the 8,700-square-foot compound in May 2007 for $5.8 million. Documents show that the property was later deeded over to the songstress via a private trust after she had turned 19 in 2012.
Despite only putting the house up for sale this week, the 22-year-old “Wrecking Ball” singer seems to have actually left the family nest quite some time ago. She hasn't been living there since 2011, when she bought a place of her own in the nearby neighbourhood of Studio City for $3.9 million.
Her parents, meanwhile, currently reside in a sprawling country ranch in Nashville.
Designed by famed Montecito architect Bob Easton, the “Tuscan-inspired” six-bedroom, seven-bathroom home features rustic-chic décor in the formal living and dining rooms, enormous walk-in closets and even a private home movie theatre.
Outside, the property has three garages, a skateboard ramp, an outdoor pool with an adjacent hot tub and a large patio for entertaining complete with a fireplace.
For homebuyers with safety concerns, the gated compound comes replete with an extensive security system and video surveillance – though that hasn’t stopped the house from being burglarized three times before. The home was broken into in November 2013 and again in June 2014, where burglars made off with Miley's $135,000 Maserati along with some jewellery.
Most recently, another burglar managed to bypass the house's security system in December. A man named Rusty Edward Sellner was arrested and charged with felony first-degree residential burglary earlier this month, to which he pleaded not guilty.
