Diary of the week: Supermodel Linda Evangelista's homecoming and the Parros's clothing launch

What a beautiful evening it was - and not merely because of the candles and spring-worthy stems lining the intimate dinner table. There was a supermodel in the midst! On Tuesday (Feb. 10), The Room fêted its newest face, St. Catharines-born catwalk queen Linda Evangelista, who stars in the Spring/Summer campaign for The Bay's swankiest department. Greeting fellow diners with a double-kiss, the exuberant beauty was dressed simply (but, of course, looked spectacular) in a cream sweater and matching mid-length skirt, and delighted in seeing a Sept. 1989 issue of Flare magazine, presented by editor-in-chief Cameron Williamson, which featured her younger self as the cover star (Shinan Govan dishes about the evening here!).

Across town at GotStyle a few evenings prior, Hockey Wives star Tiffany Parros and her former NHL-er of a husband, George, launched their respective clothing lines (Plain Threads and Violent Gentlemen) with a raucous party, #ParrosPopUp. The event took over the second floor of the popular retailer, where guests like Nicolas Mulroney, George Stroumboulopoulos, and fellow Wives Martine Forget, Maripier Morin, Kodette LaBarbera, Brijet Whitney and Emilie Blum (with hockey hubby Jonathan Blum in tow) nibbled and sipped cocktails while cameras shot scenes for the highly anticipated W Network reality show, which gives viewers a look at "the other side of the game."
