New parents Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds go out for dinner without baby James

With an adorable new baby girl at home, we’re sure it wasn’t easy for Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively to tear themselves away – but the new parents took some time for themselves to celebrate Valentine’s Day in upstate New York, where the happy family resides.

The Green Lantern star and Most Beautiful Canadian took his wife to The Inn at Pound Ridge, a fitting choice for the openly food-obsessed pair and one that utilizes fresh local produce.

Despite becoming parents recently, the Reynolds are clearly still trying to keep the romance alive.

Speaking about their relationship, before their baby came along, Blake explained : “The best part is when we turn off our phones and just talk and hang out. He’s my best, best friend. What do you do with your best friend? You do nothing.”

There’s been little time for doing that since their daughter was born in late December. It’s thought the new parents have called her James. Previous reports suggested that the little one was called the more traditional name Violet – although Ryan jokingly denied this on The Late Show with David Letterman.

The new dad quipped: “It is a very pretty name, but that’s Ben Affleck’s daughter’s name. We’d never steal another celebrity’s baby’s name, so we went with Shiloh” – which is a reference to Angelina Jolie’s little girl.

He later explained that he was happy to tell people her name on a private basis rather than released it “in a media context”.

Whatever she’s called the baby is the love of his life. Besotted Ryan says that Blake is no longer the most important woman in his life, cheekily joking that if he had to choose between saving his wife or their child, the actress wouldn’t get a look in.
