Josh Brolin was enjoying a surf vacation in Hawaii with his girlfriend late last month when he noticed a fellow surfer struggling against the current. The 47-year-old actor sprung into action, using his expertise and athleticism to guide the distressed and seemingly exhausted man back to shore, possibly even saving his life.
Although the incident occurred on Feb. 27, the video of Josh’s act of heroism, which was caught on camera by a bystander, surfaced online this week – and it’s an incredible sight to behold.
In the clip, the True Grit star can be seen paddling over to a man lying facedown on his surfboard as he struggles to stay afloat amidst the strong waves. Josh stays by the man’s side, pointing and encouraging him to keep paddling towards the beach while reportedly grabbing the leash on his surfboard to help tow him in.
Not only is Josh an avid and experienced surfer, but he’s definitely also in great shape as he prepares to play the villain Thanos in the upcoming comic-based film The Avengers: Age of Ultron. He’s also just finished wrapping two other projects – adventure-flick Everest with Robin Wright, Jake Gyllenhaal and Keira Knightley, and the Coen brothers’ comedy Hail, Caesar!, which co-stars George Clooney and Channing Tatum.

The actor had been enjoying a well-deserved holiday with his girlfriend of one year, Kathryn Boyd, who is thought to have been his assistant and in her mid-to-late 20s.
The No Country for Old Men star was previously married to Diane Lane. The couple filed for divorce in 2013 after eight years of marriage.
