Everybody loves the great outdoors, but not everyone is cut out for the bugs, unpredictable weather and general discomfort that come hand-in-hand with roughing it. And if you’re a celebrity accustomed to the finer things in life, pitching your own tent under the stars simply might not do.
Enter " glamping," the ultimate way to enjoy a woodsy holiday with none of the muss or fuss. As the name suggests, it's a glitzy blend of glamour and camping that combines all the luxuries of a five-star hotel with the natural beauty of the wilderness.
Unsurprisingly, some of Hollywood's more hippie-chic stars have taken to the idea – even the 2015 Oscar gift bags included a $12,500 glamping vacation courtesy of Terravelo Tours. Solange Knowles famously rang in the New Year in California’s Joshua Tree National Park, documenting her trip on Instagram by giving her vacation its own hashtag – #turnupteeepee.

Decked out in what the singer deemed “desert dressing” – a.k.a. designer furs, over-the-knee suede boots, floppy hats and even a metallic bikini – Beyoncé's little sister and her stylish entourage staged elaborate fashion shoots during their bohemian-inspired adventure. In the evenings, they sipped on cool cocktails by the fire and hung out in a formidable "teepee," which came decorated with calf-skin rugs and cozy lounge chairs.
And Solange is not alone. When flower-child Kate Moss worked on a fashion shoot at a travellers’ campsite, she forwent the lavish hotels nearby and stayed in a caravan instead, where she reportedly sang around the fire with fellow campers.

Meanwhile, Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria was spotted emerging from under a tent on an unassuming campsite in Normandy while visiting her former husband’s native France.
