When Paris Hilton was in Cannes this week and needed to get from point A to point B, she did what any of us would do: She hired an Uber to take her to her destination. Unlike most of us, however, the hotel heiress opted for a considerable travel upgrade – and not even a black towncar or SUV would do the trick.
Known as an “uberchopper” or "ubercopter," the jet-setting socialite hailed a helicopter from the ridesharing service to enjoy a stylish flight from Cannes to Monaco, sharing Instagram photos of her lavish voyage along the way.
“Love that Uber now has helicopters #UberCopter” she wrote below a glamorous photo of herself standing next to her fancy new ride.
Paris’ travel style was no less glamorous. The 34-year-old beauty donned a crystal-embellished, floor-length ball gown, diamond chandelier earrings and a matching diamond choker for her flight. After she touched down in Monaco, she strutted off the airplane runway with one hand on her hip, posing in true model form.
The entertainment mogul had arrived in Cannes over the weekend to promote her latest EDM single, “ High Off My Love,” at the VIP Room.
Uber has reportedly been testing out the new chopper service at the film festival as a convenient and traffic-free alternative for the A-list set – and it seems to be catching on. Hailey Baldwin, too, took advantage of the opulent service, touching down from Paris, France earlier this week and sharing a photo from her ubercopter ride on Instagram.
It takes just seven minutes to fly from Nice to Cannes in the ubercopter, making it an enticing service among those who can afford it. There's been no word yet on whether Uber plans to expand it's chopper service to other events or affluent-minded cities.
