Gigi Hadid was anything but offside when she surprised boyfriend Joe Jonas with a football-themed birthday bash in honour of his 26th birthday on Aug 15. The top model rented out the Stubhub Center in Los Angeles for the special affair and packed the field with all of Joe’s closest friends.
The celebrity-filled guest list included the birthday boy’s younger brother, Nick Jonas, Gigi’s sister Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner and Taylor Swift. The young Hollywood set made sure to share pictures from the party with fans on social media.
“Thank you for the best surprise ever. I love All these people. #megasquad,” Joe captioned a photo which shows the group of friends posing for a photo on the pitch, which is normally the home to David Beckham’s former football team LA Galaxy.
The birthday boy later shared a series of polaroid photos including one which saw him cosying up to Gigi, who puckers up for the camera.
“Thank you @nickjonas @gigihadid,” he wrote.
Gigi enlisted the help of Nick to arrange the party, and the 22-year-old was no doubt happy to help after it recently emerged that she has been playing matchmaker for him following his split from Olivia Culpo.
Nick is said to be dating Kendall Jenner after recently being introduced by Gigi – whose reasons for matchmaking weren’t totally selfless, according to Us Weekly.
“Gigi wants Kendall around all the time,” a source told the publication. “She thinks it would be fun for all of them to hang out.”
The pair are said to be getting to know each other better over text, and have apparently had “a flirty chemistry from the start”. However the new couple weren’t pictured together on Monday night, with Nick kneeling within “the squad” while model Kendall struck a pose lying on her side at the front of the group as they gathered for their team photo.
