There are some onscreen partners that just make sense—Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law in Sherlock Holmes, for example— and the pairing of Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer in director Guy Ritchie’s latest caper film The Man from U.N.C.L.E. is one of those cinematic gifts that prove that sometimes two wise-cracking lead actors are better than one—especially when the fate of the world is at stake.
But sometimes a celebrity’s real-life charisma and heroic personalities lead everyone who admires them both onscreen and off to imagine how great life would be to have them by their side—Mindy Kaling, Amy Schumer and Channing Tatumall make the cut as celebrities that would make the best partners-in-crime.
With his sweet dance moves and down-to-earth family guy sensibilities, Channing Tatum definitely fits the bill for the role. His gorgeous wife, Jenna Dewan-Tatum, recently posted a snap on Instagram of the happy couple and their daughter, Everly, 2, on vacation in Los Cabos, Mexico. The actress wrote that she was feeling “so blessed and grateful” to be spending some quality time under the sun with her family. The couple met on the set of 2006’s Step Up and began dating after filming had wrapped.
Amy Schumer is no doubt the dream partner-in-crime. With her sharp tongue, skewering insight, and proclivity for building human pyramids with her gal pals (including Jennifer Lawrence) while holidaying on a boat, the Trainwreck star knows how to be a good best friend.
On a royal note, it’s hard to build a case as to why Prince Harry wouldn’t be the ultimate regal right-hand man. From his bravery on the battlefield to his ability to charm both young and old, the prince is the total package when it comes to picking a perfect partner.
Still, Hollywood is home to a crop of talented candidates for the job. And as Hello! caught up with the cast of secret agents from The Man from U.N.C.L.E.at the film’s Toronto premiere, we couldn’t help but start to dream up which celebrity we would cast to play our very own partner-in-crime.
