Dwayne Johnson's dramatic rescue of his two adorable puppies
Baywatch’s newest lifeguard, Dwayne Johnson, got in some practice over Labour Day weekend when he rushed to the rescue of his two dogs, who had tumbled into his pool. The real-life action hero dove in fully dressed to save his puppies, Hobbs and Brutus – an adorable pair of French Bulldogs that the star recently adopted. He shared the drama-filled event with his fans on Instagram, adding a few tips that he has learned from the experience.
“Not all puppies have the instinct to doggie paddle,” he advises, adding that his dogs may be safe and sound, but his cell phone is not. “While spiriting to save your puppies life, before you dive in, try and throw your cell phone to safety. Don’t keep it in your pocket… like I did.”
Dwayne, who was recently confirmed to star in the big-screen adaptation of Baywatch alongside Zac Efron, has become a social media maven of late thanks to his hilarious “Throwback Thursday” pictures. His more than 26-million followers have been treated to a series of childhood images of the leading man, including this memorable photo below, from when he was 22. “Never accomplished my dreams of playing in the NFL … but I sure as hell never missed a meal,” he jokes.
In addition to Baywatch, the California native, who is currently filming the crime comedy Central Intelligence with Kevin Hart and Aaron Paul, has a blockbuster-filled schedule lined up right through to 2019. Next year, he will voice a character in the animated adventure movie Moana, followed by Rampage, a film that is based on the hit 1980s video game. The 43-year-old actor will then get back behind the wheel in 2017’s Furious 8 before making his DC Comics debut in Shazam!.
