Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger may have called time on their two-year marriage back in September, but the former lovebirds are still united in their passion for music. The songstress has even called on Nickelback's front man to help her write songs for her upcoming album.
“ YeeHaw! Writing with Chad today!” wrote Avril alongside a picture of the singer jamming out on her guitar. The Napanee native followed up the behind-the-scenes snap with one of Chad, captioned, “Back where it all started” - a reference to the early days of the couple’s relationship when they fell in love working on Avril’s self-titled fifth studio album in 2011.
This reunion should come as no surprise to fans as Avril herself expressed her admiration for Chad and their everlasting friendship in her official statement announcing their split. “We are still, and forever will be, the best of friends, and will always care deeply for each other,” she said.
In addition to working on her new album, the "Complicated" singer is also busy promoting a new campaign to benefit those suffering from Lyme disease. Launched on her birthday on Sept. 27, the five-week initiative features a host of fun and exciting prizes, including the chance to hang out with the singer and voice a character in her upcoming animated movie, Charming. “My fans are always so supportive and ready to give back,” wrote Avril, adding, “I look forward to coming together for an issue that’s so close to me.”
