Chrissy Teigen and husband John Legend are overjoyed to be expecting their first child together, and the adorable couple couldn’t wait to share the news. Taking to Instagram on Monday (Oct. 12), the couple – who have been candid about their fertility struggles – shared the happy news.
Chrissy, 29, posted a black-and-white snapshot of herself and her musician husband, his hand resting on her stomach. “John and I are so happy to announce that we are pregnant,” she wrote alongside.
John and I are so happy to announce that we are pregnant :) As many of you know, we've been trying to have a baby for a while now. It hasn't been easy, but we kept trying because we can't wait to bring our first child into the world and grow our family. We're so excited that it's finally happening. Thank you for all your love and well wishes. I look forward to all the belly touching! Xx

The news comes just a few weeks after Chrissy spoke candidly about the couple’s struggle to conceive.
“John and I were having trouble,” she revealed during an emotional interview on her new daytime talk show FABlife. “We would have had five, six, years ago if it happened. But, my gosh, it’s been a process.
“We’ve seen fertility doctors and once you open up about those things to other people you learn that a lot of other people in your life are seeing these people and they have this shame about it.”
The star added that she found it particularly painful when people asked when she and John would be starting a family. “It’s kind of crazy because I can’t imagine being that nosy to be like, ‘So, when are the kids coming?’ because who knows what somebody’s going through.”
Chrissy later spoke to E! News about her decision to go public with her fertility struggles. “I wanted to talk about it for so long,” she said. “It didn’t feel right to ever tweet, ‘Ugh, doing my IVF shots again.’ It just sounded silly. It definitely was not planned in that episode at all.”
John and model Chrissy met on the set of his music video Stereo in 2007, and they tied the knot in September 2013 in Lake Como, Italy.
