Jason Priestley on the mend after concussion

By Anna Redman

Fans are relieved to hear that Jason Priestley, 46, is recovering after being thrown from a horse on Nov. 11. The Canadian actor was filming his latest project, TV series The Code, in Toronto.

"I got my bell rung pretty good," the former Beverly Hills, 90210 star tweeted after being discharged from hospital. Because of his history of concussions, Jason was immediately taken for an assessment by a neurologist. "He advised I take a few days off as I had suffered a concussion," the actor explained.

Reassuring fans, Jason added, "But I am definitely on the mend and looking forward to getting back to work with all the wonderful people on The Code."

Production on the show, which sees Jason take on the role of an astute hockey player turned detective, is expected to resume next week.

Hello! recently caught up with the proud actor, one of our Most Beautiful Canadians in 2014, when he hosted the Canada’s Walk of Fame induction ceremony on Nov. 7 for the second consecutive years. "It always baffles me, Canada’s the greatest country in the world and the rest of the world kind of forgets that Canada’s there," he said, showcasing his national pride and explaining the reason he happily resumed his hosting duties.

As for his favourite part about being Canadian? "Travelling to Europe with my Canadian passport. They really roll out the red carpet for you, it’s awesome." We’re sure The Codeteam will also be rolling out the red carpet when Jason returns to work next week, happy to have their leading man back in one piece.
