Sandra Bullock shares joy about three-year-old adopted daughter, Laila

Sandra Bullock is basking in the joys of motherhood again after adopting a three-year-old girl from Louisiana. Laila (pronounced Lila) is a welcome little sister for Sandra’s sweet son Louis, 5, who she adopted in 2010.

“When I look at Laila, there’s no doubt in my mind that she was supposed to be here,” reveals the actress, who shared her happy news in the recent issue of People magazine. “I can tell you absolutely, the exact right children came to me at the exact right time.”

She also reveals that it was her son, Louis, who “spearheaded the whole journey,” which started about three years ago. “My family is blended and diverse, nutty and loving and understanding,” says the Oscar winner. “That’s a family.”

Being a mom is Sandra's greatest joy, as is often shown by the way she speaks about her close bond with Louis. After introducing him in the pages of Hello! in 2010, the 51-year-old star called him a "perfect little man" and stated how astounding it is to "watch a human being grow right before your eyes." This year, she told Hello! that Louis is "the most beautiful child in the world," although we'd imagine it's now a tie between Louis and Laila.

The star has always been open to the idea of having more children, telling Vogue in 2013, "If all of a sudden someone said, ‘You have five more kids,' I'd be totally OK with it. I'm having such an amazing time. Whatever comes our way, we handle as a family. It's not just me anymore."
