As Celine Dion continues to mourn the death of her husband, Rene Angelil, the singer has received an outpouring of love and support from all over the world. Now, fellow legend Barbra Streisand has extended her sympathies by posting a touching note on Instagram. “Dear @CelineDion -- Every time you look at your children's faces, you will see René. With love and strength -- B.," wrote the superstar alongside a throwback photo of herself with the Canadian singer.
The singers are longtime friends and in 1997 joined forces on the ballad “Tell Him,” which was featured on both Celine’s album Let’s Talk About Love and Barbra’s Higher Ground.
The heartfelt message will no doubt bring some comfort to Celine as she prepares to lay her husband to rest in Montreal. The singer, along with her three children, René-Charles, 14, and five-year-old twins Eddy and Nelson, will lean on each other as they attend the beloved husband and father’s funeral on Friday (Jan. 22).
Celine has expressed her gratitude for the support her family has received through this difficult time. Speaking with People at René’s visitation on Thursday (Jan. 21), she said, “The support we have received has been such a blessing.” Celine, 47, bravely attended the somber event and personally thanked hundreds of mourners who flocked to Montreal’s Notre-Dame Basilica to pay their last respects to the 73-year-old music manager.
Since René's passing on Jan. 14, Celine has been inundated with loving messages from her famous friends. From Josh Groban to David Foster and Avril Lavigne, a host of celebrities have offered their deepest condolences to the singer and her grieving family.
