It was a night of music, memories and awareness as Canadian TV personalities and stage professionals joined friends and family of the late PR professional Alison Salinas for an extravaganza of song to honour the work she did while battling cervical cancer. Through her blog, TEALPOWER Canuck, Alison shared her journey and created a community determined to help young women protect themselves, and the spirit of her work was alive under a dreamy canopy of paper lanterns at Revival as stage stars brought her favourite hits to life at TEALPOWER Presents: From Broadway With Love. eTalk personalities Devon Soltendieck and Liz Trinnear MC'd the show, while guests nibbled on mini pulled pork sandwiches and gooey brownies by Food Dudes.
The air was thick with suspense as a sartorially savvy crowd gathered at Struck Contemporary Gallery in Toronto for the announcement of the 2016 Canadian Arts & Fashion Award nominees. Looking sleek in a figure-hugging black dress and white-feathered ensemble, respectively, directors Vicky Milner and Brittney Kuczynski shared their excitement over the CAFA's third year before handing it over to Schitt's Creek stars Annie Murphy and Jennifer Robertson to reveal the crop of homegrown designers, models and stylists battling for top honours (see the complete list of nominees here!). One of the highlights of the city's social calendar, the awards show sees a who's who of industry heavyweights don their finest for an evening of wining, dining and toasting talented Canadians, which will take place on April 15.
