Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio cut their teeth together as young actors when the pair captivated the world – and were catapulted to superstardom – thanks to their roles as onscreen couple Rose and Jack in Titanic.
And much to the delight of their fans, the pair were reunited at the Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday night. After Leonardo won for outstanding performance by a male actor in a leading role for his turn in The Revenant, an ecstatic Kate got to her feet to give her dear friend a big hug and a kiss on the cheek.
Earlier in the evening, the duo were pictured giggling away on the red carpet.
During an interview, Kate was asked why she was so shocked when she recently won a Golden Globe, and her answer was so sweet.
“I’ve been so focused on Leo and him winning everything and being so excited for him,” she said.
The Hollywood pals often sing each other's praises, with the actress recently expressing just how much she would love to see her friend win his first Oscar, saying, "It would just be amazing."
An Oscars win is much anticipated for Leonardo who has been nominated for best actor for his performance in brutal revenge thriller The Revenant.
Even with no Oscars under his belt, Revolutionary Road co-star Kate thinks that this year's award is Leonardo's. "I do think it probably will be [him]," the Labor Day actress said when she was interviewed by the BBC at the London Critics' Circle Film Awards on Sunday.
"I think you can sort of feel it and I think that everyone wants it for him ... It would just be amazing."
