Canadian sport and music royalty collided last night (Mar. 25) when Wayne Gretzky and Justin Bieber hung out together in Las Vegas. The Great One and his family popped backstage to meet the singer before his sold-out show at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. And while Wayne looked thrilled to meet the Stratford native, even presenting him with his very own Edmonton Oilers jersey, it was his daughter Emma who was walking on air. The proud father and his wife Janet surprised their youngest child with a special meet-and-greet with the "Sorry" singer in honour of her 13th birthday.
"Just about to surprise Emma with her birthday present," wrote Janet on Instagram, alongside a picture of herself with Justin and her husband. She also shared a snap of the birthday girl posing with her "present. "Happy Birthday Emma! We love you," she added. Later it was the 22-year-old pop star's turn to document the Canadian get-together by posting a photo of himself with the hockey legend, simply captioned, "The great one."

And while Justin was happy to make Emma’s birthday dreams come true, the singer recently announced that he will not be doing anymore meet-and-greets at his concerts in order to save his emotional energy. He explained the situation to fans in an emotional note, writing, "I enjoy meeting such incredible people but I end up feeling so drained and filled with so much of other people's spiritual energy that I end up so drained and unhappy. I want to make people smile and happy but not at my expense and I always leave feeling mentally and emotionally exhausted to the point of depression.”
