Chrissy Teigen and her husband John Legend took to social media on Sunday (Apr. 17) to share the happy news that their daughter, Luna Simone, has arrived. "She's here! Luna Simone Stephens, we are so in love with you! And sleepy. Very sleepy," wrote the new mom on Instagram. Little Luna arrived on Apr. 14.
This is the first child for the couple, who tied the knot in 2013. Both John and Chrissy have been counting down the days to parenthood, often sharing their hopes, dreams and worries over being first-time parents. Speaking with Self, the Sports Illustrated model admitted, “I’ve truly never been alone with a kid. I don’t think I’ve changed a diaper! I’m like, how many times a day do they go?”
And while Chrissy starts her journey as a first-time mom, she can look to her laid-back husband for some unwavering support. "I feel like, my mentality is just to be open and ready to help with whatever I can ... And to be as loving to my wife and to our daughter as much as possible," the Oscar-winning musician told E! News.
In the months leading up to Luna's birth, the 30-year-old star has been getting advice from famous friends like Kim Kardashian and Alicia Keys. She's also been fêted on numerous occasions, including a McDonald's and Taco Bell-catered baby shower hosted by the Kardashians.
Chrissy announced her pregnancy back in October, taking to Instagram to write: "John and I are so happy to announce that we are pregnant :) As many of you know, we've been trying to have a baby for a while now. It hasn't been easy, but we kept trying because we can't wait to bring our first child into the world and grow our family."
